The 1784 Minute Challenge
You’ve got questions. We’ve got answers.
What is the 1784 Minute Challenge?
It’s an annual day and a half of giving that lasts 1784 minutes, honoring the year Moses Brown School was founded. This year it will be September 21-22, 2023.
Why September?
To honor the legacy of Moses Brown on what would be his 285th birthday on September 23.
Why do we do it?
It’s a fantastic opportunity for all members of the MB community to come together to celebrate Moses Brown and demonstrate our enduring commitment to inspiring the inner light of every student. Gifts donated during the 1784-Minute Challenge equal 30% of the total amount donated to the Moses Brown Fund during the fiscal year (July 1 – June 30).
Why should I give to Moses Brown?
Everyone has their own unique reason for supporting Moses Brown; whether you want to pay it forward, invest in excellence in education, or support the work for our exceptional faculty and staff.
What are the goals?
The goal is to secure support for the Moses Brown Fund, which provides critical resources for all aspects of the Moses Brown student experience.
What donations count toward the overall goal?
All gifts from families, alumni, faculty, staff, students, and friends will count toward the participation goal and toward the challenge match.
How do I make a gift?
You can make your gift at our secure giving page.
Why is my participation important?
Your gift is part of a growing tradition of support that helps MB remain strong. This momentum supported by the MB community is an essential catalyst for exceptional education, inclusivity, creativity, and sportsmanship at our school.
I’ve already made a pledge. Can my gift count toward the challenge?
Yes! When you make your pledge payment on the challenge dates, it will be counted toward the challenge goal.
