Congratulations to the five Moses Brown School seniors who have been selected as semifinalists for the 2025 National Merit Scholarship Program: Jace G., Johnny G., Sai K., Craig K., and Gayatri M. More than 16,000 semifinalists have been named in what is the 70th annual year for the program. These five students now have an opportunity to continue toward consideration for some 6,870 National Merit Scholarships.

To be considered for a Merit Scholarship award, semifinalists must fulfill several requirements to advance to the finalist level of the competition. A semifinalist must have an outstanding academic record throughout high school, submit a recommendation by a representative of the school, write an essay, and earn SAT or ACT scores that confirm the student’s earlier performance on the qualifying test.
