Moses Brown on February 14 hosted its first-ever VEX high school qualifying tournament: the "Heart Breaker" Qualifier. Led by coaches Dave Wasser, Brendan Kinnell, Catie Marchessault, and Tim Milbourne, the event was a massive logistical success, powered by a dedicated team of MB community volunteers.

Eighteen teams from across Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and Connecticut competed in over 30 head-to-head matches and numerous "skills challenges" for the 2025-26 VEX Push Back Challenge. While MB’s teams fell just short of a win after reaching the elimination rounds, the day was a triumph of growth and networking.

We are especially excited about our new partnership with the Cranston East VEX team and look forward to deepening that connection as we work to expand the robotics community in Rhode Island. A huge thank you to the students, parents, faculty, and staff volunteers who made this "first flight" a success—we look forward to making this an annual occurrence!
