MB Theatre Welcomes Visiting Artist & Trinity Rep Resident Company Member Phyllis Kay to Fall Creative Team

This fall, Moses Brown School is thrilled to welcome Visiting Artist Phyllis Kay to the Theatre Department creative team for two upcoming fall productions running November 12-14: The Wolves and Our Town. A 35-year veteran of Trinity Rep’s resident company, Phyllis will work alongside student director Ronnie O. ’26 and MB theatre faculty to bring these shows to life.

"Phyllis Kay is a legend. She has made her living as a professional actress of stage and screen and is truly a person of the theatre,” said Steve Kidd, Theatre Teacher. “Phyllis is synonymous with excellence and generosity. To have her working with our students in Our Town is a gift to me, to our department, and to all our students. She also happens to be my favorite actor."

Milly Massey, Director of Arts Programs, added, “We are thrilled to have the celebrated Phyllis Kay with us this fall working with Steve and our students on such an iconic play. Support for visiting artists like Phyllis is made possible through the philanthropic support of the Pansey Visiting Artist Theatre Fund, established in 2016 by Gertrude Pansey in memory of her son Mark Harris ‘71, in order to bring theatre artists to campus to complement student productions."

A Trinity Rep resident acting company member since 1991, Kay has starred in numerous landmark productions, including Macbeth, Cabaret, and Death of a Salesman. Her extensive career on stage and screen includes work at premier regional venues such as Arena Stage, as well as appearances on The Sopranos and in The Proposal. She holds degrees from Emerson College, L'Université de Lausanne, and Brown University, is a graduate of The Neighborhood Playhouse, and was named a 2015 Ten Chimneys Fellow.
