Moses Brown String Orchestras Earn Top Honors at RIMEA Festival

Moses Brown's talented young string musicians delivered outstanding performances at the Rhode Island Music Educators Association (RIMEA) Junior-Senior Orchestra Festival held Wednesday, April 2 at South Kingstown High School.

Competing against eight ensembles from across the state, the Moses Brown Grades 5-6th String Orchestra and Grades 7-8th String Orchestra both achieved the highest possible rating: Superior.

Three adjudicators, or judges, evaluated each group, and the Moses Brown ensembles impressed with their skill and musicality. The Grades 5-6 String Orchestra, notably the youngest group participating and experiencing their first adjudicated event, earned an impressive average score of 37 out of 40 points. The Grades 7-8 String Orchestra achieved an even higher average of 38.5 out of 40 points.

"Both ensembles did incredibly well," said instructor Emily Chen. "The 5th and 6th graders, especially, were remarkable, given it was their first time playing in this type of setting."

Please congratulate these dedicated young musicians on their exceptional achievement!
