We are thrilled to announce that senior Josselyn Wolf has been named the 2026 Rhode Island Youth Poetry Ambassador by the Rhode Island Center for the Book and Poet Laureate Emeritus Tina Cane. A celebration, including this award, took place at the State House Library on February 27.

This prestigious statewide honor recognizes a high school student who serves as a dedicated advocate for poetry, aiming to inspire young people across Rhode Island through creative expression. In addition to a monetary award, Josselyn will have the opportunity to participate in public readings and lead initiatives that bring poetry directly to her peers.

Reflecting on the appointment, Josselyn shared her vision for the role: “I hope to prove that poetry is not a dead language but is fundamentally alive. As our generation confronts planetary and societal instability, poetry reunites us with the most elemental parts of ourselves and endures as one of the most ancient catalysts for change.”
