Two MB Honors French Students Honored in National Competition

Moses Brown Honors French students Alaina M. '27 (silver medal) and Serafina H. '28 (gold medal) have been recognized in the prestigious national French competition, Le Grand Concours. Serafina was also named a Lauréat for earning the highest score in her category nationally, a huge achievement and honor. Accompanied by French instructor Adele Saint Pierre, the students recently attended a ceremony celebrating Rhode Island's top French scholars.

This annual competition evaluates exceptional linguistic prowess, challenging students in grades 1-12 across all 50 states and abroad with a comprehensive written examination that measures skills against peers at similar levels.

Organized by the American Association of Teachers of French (AATF), Le Grand Concours aims to promote the study of French and reward student achievement. The competition provides a valuable opportunity for students to gauge their progress, challenge themselves, and celebrate their passion for the French language and culture.
