Eighth Graders presented their Rube Goldberg Machines on Tuesday, June 6 – the culmination of their science work this year. Students were asked to apply what they have learned of simple machines toward the creation of a complex machine. Their designs were to include six simple machines, and students needed to demonstrate the principles behind how they function. Overall, the goal was to create something more complicated than it needed to be, and also be humorous. The demonstration was tremendous fun and showcased a lot of clever thinking and invention.
