Pre-Primary
Pre-primary students gather every morning for circle time. To them, it’s a fun gathering to share news and learn about our friends. But it’s all that and more: it’s a time to reaffirm our class culture and values, a time to practice our executive functions, a time to review content and assess who had something ‘click’ overnight and is ready to move on.
Throughout the day, Quaker values are the lens that focuses every child’s social, emotional, and academic learning, building community in tandem with early academic skills. By the time they say goodbye, they’ve reinforced and built upon lessons in all of these areas, and are ready to get in the car and tell you all about penguins.
Or volcanoes. With four- and five-year-olds, you never know.
