Alumni raise scholarship funds through Quaker Classic tournament

Moses Brown alumni teed up a year of events with the MBAA Quaker Classic on September 30 in Newport, the Alumni Association’s first in-person event since March of 2020. This year’s golf tournament drew more than 100 participants and raised $24,000 to support the school’s Bliss Scholarship Fund for alumni children and other alumni programming. (Seventy-eight children of alumni are enrolled at MB this year.)

“We were thrilled to welcome so many players and to raise money for scholarships,” says new Director of Development and Alumni Relations Linda Kaplan P ’14’16. Alumni, friends, and parents arrived from as far away as California to reconnect with one another and give back to Moses Brown.

Support from a record number of sponsors and auction donors made this year’s event possible, along with impressive coordination from event Co-Clerks Nancy Pasquariello ’91 and Adam Pennacchio ’01 and the Quaker Classic Golf Tournament Committee.

At the 19th Hole Reception afterward, players and guests were able to greet new MBAA Clerk Dave Murphy ’91 and celebrate recent Hall of Fame inductee Nancy Pasquariello ’91 in person.
