Exploring 100, Through Counting and Service
MB’s Kindergarten found a creative way to connect their study of the number 100 to a collection effort for Camp Street Ministries. The project began as a countdown to 100 days of school; they wanted to visually explore the number 100 in concrete ways as well. To that end, along with other lower school classes, students endeavored to collect 100+ food items. They were also interested in how collections of 100 items of different sizes looked bigger or smaller. For example, a collection of 100 elephants would look very different from a collection of 100 mice.
As a bonus, MB’s Middle School service group helped deliver the food to Camp Street.
Great job, everyone, for finding a creative way to learn, and to be of service and support the larger community all at once.
