So good to be MB Back Together
What an incredible evening for MB on April 23! Thank you to the 300+ guests who came to the Woodman Family & Community Performance Center for MB Back Together this past Saturday to build community and raise money for scholarship support.
The Woodman Center was festive and beautiful, with great food, conversations and laughter that filled the room – the happy sound of our community being back together again! Many new friendships were created, as others very much enjoyed reconnecting with friends and members of the community for the first time in almost three years.
An evening highlight came from a wonderful group of six students and faculty from across the divisions who treated us to a reading of a new poem, Inner Light in 3D(ivisions), written specifically for MB Back Together by faculty member Steve Kidd. It was magical and inspiring and reminded us why we love MB.
The evening was incredibly successful raising thousands of dollars to support scholarships for MB students. The final results will be announced during the May 18 All-School PA happening in the Woodman Center at 8:15 am (parents/guardians from all divisions are encouraged to attend either in person or via Zoom).
We can’t thank our community enough for supporting scholarship in all the ways that you did. You made all the difference. There’s still time to contribute, the Pop-Up Shop is open through Wednesday, May 4th.
The evening’s program concluded with a thank you from MB’s Parents’ Association to Matt Glendinning for his incredible tenure as Head of School for the last 13 years. Matt led the school in implementing the MB Believes strategic plan and completed an unprecedented fundraising campaign that dramatically strengthened the school. With blue and white scarves wrapped around their necks as a call-back to the famed School Is Closed viral snow day video from 2015, the PA Executive Board announced that $25,000 of the proceeds raised at the event will be used to establish the Matt Glendinning Endowed Scholarship Fund. It was quite a surprise for Matt who was very moved by the announcement. We couldn’t be more thrilled to acknowledge his transformational leadership by ensuring that there will forever be a Glendinning Scholar at MB.
Thank you again for such a memorable evening, and for all you do for MB!
