Informances showcase music making for young learners

Each year Lower School invites parents/guardians to Informance presentations which showcase music making by our youngest learners. The first of the Informances took place in early March and featured Nursery, Pre-Primary, and Kindergarten in the Woodman Center.

“The point here is to celebrate music making in early childhood in a way that feels authentic to what kids are actually like,” said Chad Putka, music instructor. “We’re calling it Informance. It’s both informal and informational and at the same time it’s a performance.”

During the Informance each class takes part in a couple of performances for parents, and in between Chad speaks to ways that young learners can be encouraged in their music making.

In late April, another presentation featured grades 1st and higher.
