MB welcomes Vickie Monta as Chief Financial Officer

We are pleased to announce that Vickie Monta has joined Moses Brown as our new Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

During Moses Brown’s search for the ideal CFO candidate, Vickie impressed all who met her with her financial acumen, strategic thinking and effective leadership –skills honed at both the secondary and higher education level. She stood out due to her skill with not only financial and business matters, but also championing human values and school culture. She is drawn to working in schools that are student-centered; oriented around values such as integrity, respect, and kindness; and committed to helping students develop the tools to make the world a more equitable place for all. Vickie is excited to join a Quaker school and looks forward to helping create and refine the financial systems that undergird our mission at Moses Brown.

During her candidacy, Vickie shared the following reflection on education: “I believe, with every fiber of my being, that it is only through education that we can begin to dismantle the inequities of the world. An education that keeps kindness and giving at its core reminds learners about the responsibility they assume with their knowledge – to use it for good.”

Before joining our school, Vickie completed a four-year tenure as the CFO at Nightingale-Bamford School in New York, where she served as advisor to clubs in the upper school, taught financial literacy seminars to seniors and also developed a course for students entitled “Business Development for the Young Entrepreneur.” Previously, Vickie was the Senior Finance Director and CFO for the Sloan School of Management at MIT; Executive Director for Academic Budget, Policy & Planning at Boston College; and Director of Finance & Administration for the Office of the President and Provost at Harvard University.  In 2010, under the auspices of the Harvard School of Public Health, Vickie spent a year in Tanzania establishing an indigenous NGO focused on providing HIV/AIDS care and treatment. She has a BS from Lesley University and an MBA from Regis University.

Welcome Vickie, we look forward to working with you!
