Parent Life

All MB students' parents are members of our Parents’ Association. Our goal is to engage parents in the vital work and spirit of our school. We are committed to giving parents the information and tools to support their children socially and academically. We come together to coordinate volunteer support and provide essential funding to a variety of school events and programs in order to enhance our children’s education.

The Parents’ Association supports and enriches the Moses Brown community in the following ways:

We create and promote Parent Programs, in collaboration with the school. Programs explore issues relevant to our children’s experience, and feature a speaker or a panel of speakers and interactive discussion. We support our children’s education by funding:
  • special projects for teachers
  • enrichment opportunities for student experience and faculty professional development
  • an endowed scholarship providing tuition for one student per year 
We build community through campus-wide events:
  • New Parent Reception
  • class potlucks
  • MB Expo: a fall festival including Homecoming and Admissions Open House events
  • Moses Brown Book Festival
  • teacher appreciation events
  • year-end celebrations for 5th, 8th, and 12th grades
  • MB There, our annual spring auction which raises funds for scholarship and faculty development

MBe There: April 8, 2017
Saturday April 8 is the date for 2017's campus celebration, created by and for all Moses Brown parents, faculty and staff. MBe There supports scholarship and professional development for faculty and staff, enriching the student experience and investing in the lifelong learning of our teachers. This party is a chance for our adults to reconnect with old friends, meet new ones, bid on terrific items, dine and dance! With a committee already at work on this year’s event, it promises to be a truly terrific evening. Would you like to lend a hand and share your ideas? We'd love to have you on the planning team. MB Book Festival: April 27-28, 2017
One of our favorite traditions returns on April 27 and 28, to benefit our library. Enjoy a book sale with faculty-recommended titles for parents and students in all three divisions; book signings by visiting authors; the annual Visiting Poet's readings and creative sessions with students throughout the school; and other supporting events to be annunced.

PA Meetings

The Parents’ Association holds three All-School Meetings throughout the year, and we encourage all parents to attend. These meetings are designed as interactive forums to invite visioning, listening, sharing and connecting among participants. Remaining dates:

Wednesday, February 15, 8:15-9:45 in the Sinclair Room
Wednesday, May 17, 8:15-9:45 in the Sinclair Room

PA meetings for each division are open to all.

Lower School PA meetings are usually the first Friday morning of the month at 8:20 a.m.
Middle School PA meetings are typically the first Thursday at 8:15 a.m.
Upper School PA meetings are typically the first Wednesday at 8:15 a.m.
Ask your class rep for more details about these.
