Andalucía Summer Trip – Madrid - Sevilla – Granada – Las Alpujarras – Córdoba, Spain | June 16 – 25, 2017

The focus of this incredible experience in Spain is Andalucía, the southernmost region of the Iberian Peninsula. Our trip will begin in Madrid visiting the old city, and the breathtaking Prado Museum. Then, we head south to explore the cities of Sevilla, Granada, and Córdoba. We’ll also spend two days in a tiny town of just 300 people in the Alpujarras, the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountain range south of Granada.  There we will go on hikes and discover the beauty and charm of small-town Spanish life.
Throughout the tour, students will have constant opportunities to use their Spanish (though we welcome any upper school student to join us regardless of what language they take): scavenger hunts, incredible meals, nights out on the town, flamenco shows, storytelling, a cooking class, a visit to a producer of artisan jamón serrano, a trip through the heartland of Spanish olive growers and much more. We’ll visit stunning historical monuments, sample local delicacies, and even spend an evening at a Spanish amusement/water park. Students will return home having learned a tremendous amount about Spanish history, culture, art, and lifestyle.
