Global Awareness

Whether reading a storybook together about a far-off land, Skyping with someone in another country, or heading out to explore our 33-acre campus, getting to know the world is an essential part of Kindergarten at Moses Brown.

Discovering the campus during Walkabout Wednesdays enlivens discussions in science class about how to be a good friend to the Earth.  Reading books about animals in different habitats helps us reflect on the effect we have on our own habitats–including our school, our classroom, and our homes.  Connecting our learning with a sense of place reinforces the Quaker values of Community and Stewardship, and teaches children to appreciate and care for the people and places around them.
