Everything in the Pre-primary music curriculum is framed by the love of music and musical play.  Whether learning to keep a steady beat with our bodies, to match pitch with our voices and sing in unison, or develop our vocabulary for describing music, the focus is always on fun.  At Moses Brown, every child is a musician, dancer, and actor.  With free and coordinated dances, we learn how to express ourselves in motion and pay attention to others.

In studio art, we develop our drawing skills with a range of media, including watercolor and wax crayons, pencils, markers, and paint.  Children make texture collages of string, fabric, and bubble wrap, and build structures out of cardboard.

Pre-primary students press a handprint into clay and glaze it, and then learn about the clay-firing process and how it changes both the clay and the glaze applied to it.

At the end of the year, students work together in teams to design and build a cardboard structure, drawing together social, design, and engineering lessons in a fun culminating project.
