2nd Grade

Library

In Moses Brown’s lower school library, second graders are becoming experienced seekers of ‘just right’ books that provide the appropriate level of challenge to build skill and confidence.  With weekly visits to check out books–and hear stories–they are regular patrons who have a dedicated staff to help them on their journey as readers.

Our lower school librarian presents a wide variety of authors and genres, including folk tales, riddles, nonfiction, and poetry.  In the spring, visiting authors come to class to talk about the process of writing, illustrating, and publishing books, giving children firsthand experience with writing role models.
